Youth Outreach Initiative and Scholarships

Granite State Choral Society Youth Outreach Initiative

Student Scholarships for ages 12-22

 Educational Workshop

In recognition of the need to continue promoting choral singing outside of the classroom, Granite State Choral Society is excited to announce that Alliance for Dental Care, DF Richard, Bellamy and Watson Fields and The Rochester Elks  and private donors have committed supporting our Youth Scholarship Fund. These individuals raised funds to create this scholarship specifically for any youth, age 12-22, wishing to sing with GSCS. These scholarships will be applied towards  the cost of dues, music and concert attire. Scholarship applications are accepted  yearly  for the  September registration timeframes.   Registration materials will be available soon as application opens July 1, 2019.

Additionally, with grant support from The Parker Nelson Foundation through Citizens Bank Charitable TrustsThe Saul O Sidore Memorial Foundation and the Alfred Nash Patterson award from Choral Arts New England, GSCS has created a workshop designed for the classroom using their recently commissioned cantata “Rochester” as the cornerstone. Choral music will be used to bring to life Rochester’s rich history through song. The intent is to educate youth not only of their town’s past, but also about how community singing keeps history alive through oral tradition.  Please click on the icon below for specific information on workshop contents and next planned presentations.

For more information on how to become involved in the workshop please email gschoral@gmail.com with any questions.

GSCS is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization EIN# 02-0485795.
