President’s Welcome
Welcome to another wonderful year with GSCS! Hopefully everyone survived the intense heat of the summer, all the vacations you were able to take and that you are looking forward to the exciting, new changes we have for this year!
This fall, back by popular demand, will be our Veterans Concert. With the overwhelming requests from our membership and the community at large, we couldn’t say “No!”. This concert will be filled with favorites from our prior Veterans Concert, as well as a couple new pieces (thanks to our fantastic director, Dan Roihl). And let us not forget our exciting spring concert, which will be filled with the Broadway Showtunes. Not only to have two fun-filled GSCS concerts to perform, we were also invited back to perform with the world renowned, Ethan Bortnick.
How amazing does all this sound? But hold on! We aren’t through yet…
In addition to all the concert information above, we are also welcoming a new assistant director, Jeff Mosher, and three new members to our Board of Directors. Jeff will be a very visible, warm and welcomed addition to our GSCS family. He will play a key role in our rehearsals, concert performances, and our community events. As for the newest members on our Board of Directors, we have Theo Wiegand, Kat Roedell, and Jayne Butcher. Theo comes from our talented tenor section, while Kat and Jayne have come on board from outside our membership due to their love of the GSCS program and what we represent.
We can see this as an amazing, exciting year of growth and singing for our GSCS family. Can’t you feel the excitement?!
So, “Welcome back” and let’s hit the ground running!
Cheers!
Jennifer
