Many choral groups in the seacoast area have decided that their women members may dress in the concert black of their choice. Granite State Choral Society decided many years ago to adopt a unified appearance for their choral members; tuxedos for men and a purchased dress for women. In conjunction with excitement being generated for our 40th Anniversary  it was determined that the chorus would update the women’s concert attire.  After much discussion and fittings, the Concert Attire Committee settled on a new gown/jacket choice and presented their selection to the board for approval which was adopted unanimously.

The Committee is pleased and excited to present to you all the newly selected choral attire choice for women. Men will still wear a tuxedo but as of the March 28th Gala all female choral members will be attired in the Windmere gown and have the Amadeus Jacket for winter wear. Due to the nature and design of the dress an ornamental brooch is currently being researched to use to complete the presentation. The new design is very flattering  on all body types and will greatly enhance our stage presence and image. Because of its black/white composition it will be the prefect compliment to the men’s attire as well as lend GSCS a very fresh elegant, professional look.  

The committee is determined to raise funds to help offset some of the cost as well shipping of  this new attire to its members if possible. The Yard Sale on July 19, 2014 made great headway and the Vendor/Craft Fair on November 15, 2014 completed this initiative. Your participation ensured we met the goal.

New attire will take 6-8 weeks for the order to be processed. Members who join in January will be fitted immediately in order to have their attire here in time for the March 28th Gala.

The cost of the new attire not including shipping is:

Windmere Gown   $72

Amadeus Jacket    $36

As all female members will be required to have this attire, a $50 deposit is required from all returning members planning on singing with us in the springwhich will be applied to your total cost.  You may pay all of the cost immediately if you wish but this way we will know who is returning and  how best to plan the fittings. Shipping costs are not noted as yet and sizes that are not available do have an additional charge to custom make. It is understood that the price, all at once, might be a concern which is why you are getting this information NOW so you can begin to set aside monies towards this purchase. The Concert Attire Committee has already placed monies towards their attire and for that reason are encouraging others to do so.  Putting aside $10 a week from June to Aug will more than cover the cost. The remaining balance will be due at your fitting or very soon thereafter.
