Starting a new season is always exciting!

The start of a new choral performance session always coincides with the end of one year and the start of a new one. What can we say? We’re constantly making things happen which is exactly what our tag line means when we say GSCS “is so much MORE than just music!”

We said good bye to our college bound accompanist this spring and the search was on for another. We now welcome our new Accompanist, Michael Effenberger, into our choral family.  An extremely talented and gifted professional musician, we could not be more thrilled if we tried. We expect his musical insights and contributions will be awesome.

Summer also saw GSCS moving and shaking with our annual yard sales at a new venue which was a huge success. Flamingos were seen all over the town as we partnered with the Emmanuel Church youth group to spread pink fun to as many lawns as possible. Our 3rc Annual Vocal/Choral Workshop was extremely well attended this year and we can’t wait to see what next year holds. We closed out the summer with the Chamber Singers preforming and representing GSCS as past honorees at this year’s Rochester NH Commission of Arts & Culture Award ceremonies held in front of the Rochester Opera House. We even made the front cover of the Rochester Radar on that one! Overall a very active community focused 3 months.

We’ll be looking forward to all the new and returning members as we prepare to Sing the Joy, Ring the Season” with the Granite State Ringers Bell Choir. Our Christmas themed program will be a family delight this coming December 9 & 10 and we can’t wait to share the fun of the Holiday Season with you through music.

As always, GSCS will be out and about with singing and fundraising activities events such as our extremely popular Shop ‘til You Drop Craft Fair in November. In any case, no matter how you choose to support GSCS either as a singer, an audience member or a financial supporter, be sure to bookmark the website and Facebook pages for dates and times of our events so you don’t miss a thing! We so look forward to meeting you and letting us tell you more about GSCS.

So, until then, let the music inside sound out strong to make a difference in you and your community. In everything you do, make a Joyful Noise, because that’s how you’ll be heard!
