Granite State Choral Society is seeking an accompanist.

The Granite State Choral Society is a non-auditioned, mixed community choir of approximately 40 singers, based in Rochester, NH.  GSCS is an ensemble that prides itself on the stylistic diversity of its repertoire, and believes strongly in the power of choral music to build community, both internally and externally.  We are seeking a permanent, part-time accompanist to join our musical staff, and assist in providing musical leadership.  The successful candidate will accompany choral rehearsals on Sunday afternoons from September through May, two main concert programs a year (fall and spring), and occasional other performance opportunities as needed.

Required skills include piano accompaniment, sight reading, a high level of musicianship, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Music Director.  Desired skills include organ proficiency, experience in a variety of musical styles such as gospel and jazz, improvisational ability, and the ability to lead sectional and/or choral rehearsals in the absence of the Music Director.  Singing ability, experience with vocal pedagogy, and/or proficiency on another instrument would also be valued, but are not required.
